The Application Of Task Based Instruction In English Reading Teaching In Junior High School

English reading plays an increasingly important role in English teaching of junior middle school,so the foundation of English reading cannot be ignored.For junior middle school students,many factors affect their reading level,such as learning attitude,reading skills and learning mode.This paper explores whether task-based teaching is effective in English reading teaching of junior middle school.Based on the current reading situation,the following three questions are put forward:(1)What are the problems in English reading class of junior middle school?(2)Can task-based teaching arouse the English reading interest for junior middle school students?(3)Can task-based teaching improve the reading level for junior middle school students?This paper takes the eighth-grade students and English teachers in Lushan No.1 Junior Middle School of Henan Province as the research objects.In the research process,classroom cases,classroom observation,student interviews,questionnaires and tests are used to collect materials and data.Through sorting and analysis,the following conclusions were drawn: there are some problems in traditional English reading teaching,such as students' low enthusiasm for reading,lack of language training and low reading efficiency.It is found that task-based teaching can improve students' interest and ability in English reading by means of the implementation of classroom cases and the tests before and after experiment.Therefore,the task-based teaching has certain advantages over traditional English teaching.Through the discussion in this paper,the author realizes the influence of task-based teaching on reading interest and reading level for junior middle school students,and the task-based teaching mode is duly employed to improve their English reading ability in middle school.
