A Translation Report On China And The International Order(Chapter 1-4)

The source text in this translation report is the China and the International Order(chapter 1-4)written by think tank Rand.The author gives an analysis for the translation problems met in the translation process and makes a conclusion for the translation project.As a research achievement,China and the International Order is mainly used as a reference for the making of external strategy in America.Thus,ideology is obvious in the source text.The author categorizes the translation problems based on “Comprehension,Expression and Adaptation”.Translation problems are shown through cases analysis.Thus,a deep understanding about the author’s solving mechanism to the translation problems can be given,which could be used as a reference for the translation work forward.This report mainly includes four parts: The first part gives an introduction to the source text,translation background and the author’s preparation works;the second part focuses on “Comprehension,Expression and Adaptation” and introduces these three aspects in detail;the third part is cases analysis based on “Comprehension,Expression and Adaptation”;the fourth part concludes this translation practice.This translation practice makes it clear that the framework of comprehension,expression and adaptation constitutes the whole translation process.In general,comprehension is the foundation,expression is key,while adaptation is the requirement.
