| This thesis uses See No Stranger: A Memoir and Manifesto of Revolutionary Love by American writer and social activist,Valarie Kaur,as the source text for the case analysis.The paper employs “Comprehension,Expression and Adaptation”(hereinafter referred to as the CEA)Framework as the major theoretical guideline for analyzing the literature.In order to get adequate “Comprehension”,focus has been laid on context,attitude and the cultural element in the translation.For a faithful and comprehensive “Expression”,emphasis has been laid upon studying the clause order,coherence and concise to work on a better translation expression.In the “Adaptation” section,it has been made sure that the differences between Chinese and English languages are addressed.For example,the complex sentence pattern in English have been taken into account,while the translator has employed the use of amplification and omission,sentence segmentation and integration,etc.to make the translation more vivid and concise.The translator took the following three aspects as the analysis examples,namely,esthetic,appeal and domestication.The translator listed three examples each to make the analysis more detailed in each aspect.The report has been divided into four different sections:(1)The introduction that provides a brief idea about the literature and the author of this book;(2)the theoretical section,which explains the CEA framework;(3)the case Analysis section,where the translator uses the CEA framework to study the typical cases in the translation;(4)and finally,the conclusion section,where the translator will make a conclusion of the thesis. |
