The Influence Of Modern Scientific And Technological Revolution On The Evolution Of International Pattern

As the General Secretary Xi Jinping has delivered at the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,the new era “will be an era that sees China moving closer to centre stage and making greater contributions to mankind.” In the current trends of global multi-polarity,China is indeed a great rising power.It is of great importance to use modern science and technology for the better national strength of China in the midst of profound and complex change of the International environment.From the perspective of the three scientific and industrial revolutions,the paper aims to analysis the profound influence of the scientific and industrial revolution in the change of International situation.In the first part of the paper,we shall discuss the influence of three scientific and industrial revolutions on the world pattern in chronological order respectively.In the first scientific and industrial revolution,Britain had become the Number one great power of the world from the early18 th century to the eve of the WWII.The second scientific and industrial revolution,originated in the second half of the 19 th century,had made the US and Germany play newly rising great powers.During this period,the international community was centred around various great powers.The third scientific and industrial revolution,started in the 1940 s,shaped,sustained and finally ended the striving for hegemony between the US and USSR.Research shows that there is a clear link between the evolution of the International situation and the scientific and technological revolution,and scientific and technological progress is one of the main factors to promote the evolution of the international situation.In the second part of the paper,we will take China as a separate research object.In this part we will discuss how China launched the policy of reform and opening up and gave play to the important role of science and technology as the primary productive force.With the development of science and technology,China has a huge-growing national strength and change the international situation dramatically.Finally,we will discuss that China should actively develop science and technology,strive to become a "runner" and "leader" in the new round of scientific and technological revolution,so as to promote the change of the world pattern to a multi-polar community conducive to China’s further development.
