Study On The Evolution Of The Pronunciation And Meaning Of Chinese Characters In Radical Mu With New Pronunciation After Guangyun

That the Chinese characters which have new pronunciations after Guangyun have had glyphs in the period of Guangyun,and later added new sound records in the development of the Middle Ages to the Modern time.There is not much attention to its research.On the basis of the humanities and social sciences project of"Automatic acquisition of the information of Chinese ancient Chinese lexicography-taking the rhyme book as an example",we try to systematically study the new pronunciations after Guangyun and their evolution of sound and meaning.Taking characters in radical Mu of Hanyu Dazidian(2^nd edition)as the material,we extracted 241 characters in radical Mu.This paper analyzes and summarizes the external causes and internal causes of the evolution of the Chinese characters in radical Mu which have new pronunciations after Guangyun.Based on the phonetic materials of the Hanyu Dazidian itself,according to the age distribution of the phonetic materials,we analyzed some reasons like unrecord sound in Guangyun;The period in which new sounds and meanings were increased obviously are the Song Dynasty,Tang Dynasty and the Qing Dynasty,those period were from the split to the unity,with cultural exchanges and integration.Corresponding to the development of the times,the improvement of method to recording pronunciation made the voices of these periods recorded in a large number of system.And in the usage of modern time,there are more obvious human factors,such as simplified words,intentional legacy of ancient place names,spoken words,and the inclusion of ancient written language.The analysis of internal factors of language is mainly based on ten rhyme books representing the speech systems of various eras,then we analyzed the evolution of the new pronunciation after Guangyun.“The table of evolution of the sound and meaning of new pronunciation after Guangyun in radical Mu”roughly shows the evolution process of each word;comparing to its modern sounds and meanings,the pronunciations are decreasing,89 characters are not included in the Xiandai Hanyu Cidian,and become the“words of classical Chinese”,152 characters are“current Chinese characters”,and the“monophonic characters”reached 57%;for the“current Chinese characters”,according to their word frequency attributes,four representative words were studied,and for the“words used in classical Chinese”,the reasons for the disappearance of sound meanings were classified,also four representative words were studied.The evolution process of the sound and meaning mainly reflects the various internal factors such as“glyph,sound,meaning,grammar”,and the development of meanings is especially important for the evolution of sound and meaning.The radical Mu has been closely related to people’s production and life since ancient times,and the glyphs are systematic.However,from the perspective of phonology,there is still a blank in the study of the evolution of Chinese characters about radical Mu.This paper analyzes the evolution of the meaning of the external sounds of radical Mu and Guangyun,and sorts out the path and reason of the evolution.This research on the evolution of Chinese characters and Chinese pronunciations may play a reference role,and also helps to promote the study of ancient Chinese books.
