The Cultural Function Of The Sacrificial Variant Characters In The Variant Table Of Chinese Dictionary

The variant characters is a special word phenomenon,which is to record different forms of the same word in language.Because the pronunciation and meaning of the variant Characters are identical,it increases the burden on people’s memory,so it has always been the object of standardization.However,these large numbers of variants are witnesses to the evolution of Chinese characters.If we analyze these variants from a cultural perspective,we will find that they carry rich historical and cultural information and have unique cultural functions.The article is divided into four parts.The first part is the introduction.It consists of the origin of the topic,the meaning of the topic,the research status and the theoretical methods of the research.The second part is the definition and classification of sacrificial variant characters.The first is to define the sacrificial variant characters and explain the research scope of this paper.The second is to use the "six books" theory and the "Chinese character configuration theory" to classify and analyze the sacrificial variants in the Variant table of Chinese Dictionary.The sacrificial variants are divided into two categories: heterogeneous words and different writings.The third part is the cause analysis of variant characters.On the basis of the analysis of the form of the previous chapter,the internal causes of the formation of the variant characters are analyzed.It is found that the formation of variant characters is related to the ideographic nature of Chinese characters,the unshaped early Chinese characters,the phonetic formation of Chinese characters and the analogization of writing.The fourth part is the semantic classification of the sacrificial variants in the Variant table of Chinese Dictionary.According to the interpretation of the relevant characters in the main body of the Chinese Dictionary,the sacrificial variants are divided into sacrificial names,sacrificial supplies,sacrificial methods,sacrificialplaces,sacrificial purposes,sacrificial objects,worshipers and sacrificial phenomenons.The fifth part is the cultural interpretation of the sacrificial variants in the Variant table of Chinese Dictionary.Based on the analysis of the form and the semantic classification in the previous text,this chapter explains the cultural functions of the sacrificial variant characters from the two aspects of sacrificial culture and spiritual culture.
