General Wisdom Predicts Personal Wisdom?

Wisdom is the most precious product of the human mind,which is very valuable.However,psychological empirical researches related to wisdom,morality,and thinking has only entered a period of enthusiasm after the creation of the Berlin Wisdom Paradigm of the 1980 s.But after entering 2000,psychological research on wisdom entered a period of stagnation.At present,only one study shows the relationship between general wisdom and person wisdom,but there is still a lack of research to systematically explore the relationship between general wisdom and personal wisdom,especially through the personal perspective-the second person and the third person respectively examine their relationship.The impact of domestic psychological research on wisdom is relatively waiting to be supplemented.Continued research and localization research on the relationship between general wisdom and personal wisdom will be an important research direction in this field.Study 1 explores the relationship between general wisdom and personal wisdom from the thin-slice rating and the textual rating,and finds that persons with higher levels of general wisdom in thin slice rating also show higher levels of personal wisdom,but not in textual rating.Study 2 manipulates the personal perspective in the wisdom-related performance.It affects the psychological distance between the adviser and the help-seeker in general wisdom,and then makes effects on the level of general wisdom,and repeatedly verifies that personal wisdom can be predicted by general wisdom.The general wisdom in the second-person perspective only can predict personal wisdom in the hypocrisy topic;the general wisdom in the third-person only can predict personal wisdom in the university topic.Study 1 and Study 2 also verify that people’s general wisdom is significantly higher than their personal wisdom,which is consistent with previous studies.This study uses a variety of methods to measure the person’s level of wisdom in multiple dimensions and validates the relationship between general wisdom and personal wisdom through rich life dilemma settings,and explores the internal mechanism of this relationship from the perspective of the person.It also provides astrong reference for us to carry out the empirical research of general wisdom and personal wisdom in the field of wisdom psychology.
