With the rapid development of new technologies such as Internet of Things,mobile computing and big data,both production and life style have changed dramatically.In the educational field,it has become an inevitable trend for information technology to be integrated into the classroom teaching.However,the effect of technology application should be tested in specific subject teaching practice.Focusing on the integration of English listening teaching and smart learning system,this study designed the English listening teaching model based on smart learning system on the basis of smart class teaching model and English listening teaching theories,through deeply excavating the various functions of the system.In order to verify its effectiveness and find out the problems in the concrete implementation process of this model,the researcher conducted a teaching experiment and put forward the following research questions:(1)What is the impact of the listening teaching model based on smart learning system on students' listening competence?(2)How are the attitudes of students and teachers towards the teaching model? The experiment was carried out among 100 students in two parallel classes taught by the same teacher,one being the control class,using the traditional multimedia listening teaching model,while the other was an experimental class,using the listening teaching model based on smart learning system.Listening tests,questionnaire survey and interview were adopted in the process.After a semester of teaching experiment,the researcher collected data and analyzed it through SPSS(19.00)to draw the following findings.Firstly,from the analysis of the results of listening test,the students in the experimental class had a significant improvement in their listening achievement,which presented that the listening teaching model based on smart learning system enhanced students' listening competence.Secondly,from the post-questionnaire and the results of the teacher' s interview,it can be obtained that the teacher and students showed positive attitudes towards the model based on the smart learning system.More concretely,students thought that the system was easy to operate,full of abundant listening resources and enhanced their interest and confidence in listening learning.The teacher believed that the teaching efficiency got improved and the burden of correcting assignments was reduced with the help of the evaluation function.Finally,the model unveils such strengths in the process of listening teaching: preview and inquiry learning improved the students' ability to learn independently in English listening;timely classroom evaluation and interactive teaching software in the course enhanced students' participation in class,especially in language output;Personalized tutoring in post-class stage was conducive to promote the overall effect of students' listening competence.The deficiencies of the model appeared in this process of teaching,including: the smart learning environment was not mature enough,the instability of equipment and network made a bad effect on the teaching progress;the lack of high quality listening resources increased the teachers' burden of preparing lessons;the students were easily attracted by electronic equipment,making them distracted in class.In this regard,the researcher puts forward some corresponding suggestions to optimize the application of model: network facilities should be optimized;online teaching and research platform should be established so as to deeply explore and develop high-quality listening teaching resources;teachers should improve information technology capabilities,make rational use of monitoring and lock screen functions for classroom management.
