Since the 21 st century,the rapid development of education informatization has promoted the reform and development of education.Therefore,we need to make full use of modern information technology.The development of information technology in education has led to significant changes in the form of education and learning,which is an inevitable choice for talent training in the new era.Education informatization is mainly implemented in schools,and the core content is subject teaching informatization.The smart classroom is an authentic practice site for smart education.The core features are as follows: data-based teaching decision-making,timely evaluation and feedback,three-dimensional communication and interaction,and intelligent recommendation.The strength of the smart classroom is using the latest information technology to transform and improve classroom teaching and learning,to create an intelligent and efficient class.Through intelligent teaching and learning and effective interaction,to realize the personalized and comprehensive development of all students.English reading is the key and difficult point of English learning,which occupies a high score in English tests in middle schools.The traditional reading model focuses on test-taking skills and neglects the cultivation of students’ comprehensive reading competence.Students lack reading interest and initiative,have poor reading comprehension,and fail to develop good reading habits.The thesis applies the Changyan Smart Classroom to English reading teaching,uses precise data of the smart classroom to implement precision teaching,divides the smart classroom reading into three stages,stimulates students before reading(active preview and thinking),during reading(effective interaction),after reading(active extended reading).Teachers have shifted from teaching based on their knowledge and experience to precision teaching based on accurate assessment of learning conditions and then adapted their teaching key and difficult points or strategies.Taking one of the middle schools in the artificial intelligence pilot in the Wuhua District of Kunming City as an example,this paper takes two Grade eight classes as the research objects and randomly divides them into a control class and an experimental class,with 52 students in the control class and 52 in the experimental class.The control class adopts the traditional reading model,while the experimental class adopts the smart classroom English reading model.This paper mainly explores the following questions:(1)What is the impact of the Changyan Smart Classroom’s data on English reading teaching? In what aspect?(2)What influence does the Changyan smart classroom precision teaching have on the initiative and attitude of junior middle school students in English reading teaching?(3)What impact does the Changyan smart classroom precision teaching have on the English reading score of junior middle school students?Using a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods,this study used pre-questionnaire and post-questionnaire,and teacher-student interviews to understand what aspects of reading instruction were affected by the smart classroom data,and how the reading interest and initiative of the students in the experimental class changed through the implementation of the smart classroom reading model.Finally,pre-test papers and post-test papers were used to test whether the reading performance of the experimental class improved after the experiment.The results indicate:(1)Through the data of the Changyan smart classroom,teachers can target reading for precision teaching,prepare precise lessons before class,accurately adjust teaching strategies and difficult points in class,provide accurate and personalized tutoring and recommend reading resources after class.(2)Before applying the smart classroom English reading model,Grade eight students have low reading motivation.After implementing the smart classroom reading model,the experimental class’ s reading learning initiative and reading interest improved no matter before,during,or after reading.(3)After four months of reading teaching in the smart classroom,the students’ English reading scores were significantly improved.This research not only has a positive effect on reading teaching but also improves students’ reading comprehension ability and interest in the data-based Changyan smart classroom.Teachers are student-centered,and teach students in accordance with their aptitude,so students develop in an all-around way in accordance with the requirements of the core literacy in the subject of English.Compared with the traditional English reading model,the smart classroom reading model optimizes and solves existing problems in reading teaching,providing ideas and inspiration for future research in English reading teaching in middle schools.However,this research also has shortcomings,such as the short time of research and insufficient sample size.Finally,the author summarizes the limitations and implications of the research and puts forward suggestions for teachers to better implement the smart classroom teaching model and carry out future research.
