Children’s literature distinguishes itself from that of adults for children’s specific physiology and psychology.In the era of informationization and multimedia,children’s screen adaptations transformed from literature gain growing popularity.Superior adaptations enrich children’s cognition both psychologically and culturally,while inferior adaptations play the opposite role.The book Screen Adaptations and the Politics of Childhood: Transforming Children’s Literature into Film,by Robyn Mc Callum,a author of children’s literature,discusses the characters of source materials for children’s literature adaptation,adaptation and evaluation standards,terminologies,political,cultural and ethical issues involved in adaptation.All these topics are going with the tide of modern multimedia and visual culture.Accordingly,the book will exert a significant influence on the development of children’s screen adaptations,and enable scholars concerned to determine the orientation of children’s screen adaptations in the long run.This report is composed of four parts.The first part describes the translation tasks,including an introduction to the source and writer of the source text,the text itself and the significance of this research.The second part describes the translation process,including the preparations before translation,the difficulties in translation,and revision after translation,which paves the way for the following parts.The third part focuses on translation case study,whereby typical translation phenomena in the translation are analyzed.The fourth part summarizes the present report.Based on the present translation practice,the translator is convinced that the translation method of a particular text depends on its textual features,and repeated checking after translation does improve translation quality.
