| In recent years,in response to the trend of key competence reform around the world,China’s Ministry of Education has also issued a number of important documents on curriculum reform.National English Curriculum Standards for Senior High School(2017)requires teachers to change the traditional training mode and combine with four aspects of key competence in English teaching to cultivate students’ all-round ability.The proposal of the new curriculum standard has brought new challenges to senior high school English teachers Teachers need to update the educational idea and adjust the new teaching behavior in timeAt present,there is few research on the adaptability of senior high school English teachers to National English Curriculum Standards for Senior High School(2017)at home and abroad.In order to better understand senior high school English teachers’ implementation to key competence in Hanzhong City,this study bases on humanistic learning theory and constructive learning theory and lifelong learning theory to summarize the research on key competence and English teachers’ adaptation of new curriculum reform over the years.This study uses literature review method to find some problems in current education and teaching situation.Through questionnaire method,the author design teacher questionnaire and student questionnaire and investigate respectively 52 English teachers and 731 senior two students in seven high schools in Hanzhong City in order to explore current adaptive situation of senior high school English teachers to National English Curriculum Standards for Senior High School(2017).The result of research shows that:(1)the development of senior high school students’ English key competence in Hanzhong is not balanced.Most teachers pay more attention to cultivation of students’ language ability,but they attach less importance on cultivation of cultural awareness,thinking quality and learning ability.(2)On the whole,high school English teachers in Hanzhong have poor adaptation to the new curriculum standard.In terms of language ability,the training of students’ reading and writing is ideal,but the training of listening and speaking is not optimistic,especially in terms of pragmatics,students can’t express their views and opinions in different occasions.In terms of cultural awareness,most students can respect the world multi-culture,but it is difficult for them to take the initiative to spread their national culture in English without cultural confidence.In the aspect of trait of thinking,students’ inductive and constructive ability,critical and innovation ability are weak.In terms of learning ability,most students have bad learning habits,they don’t use various learning strategies correctly and lack of self-reflection consciousness.According to the results of questionnaire,this paper analyzes some factors that affect the adaption of senior high school English teachers to curriculum reform,such as school,teachers themselves and exam-oriented education,and the difficulties in the implementation of key competence.At last,it puts forward some specific suggestions for colleges and universities,training institutions,teachers themselves and school management,so as to provide effective reference for education departments,schools and front-line teachers in order to promote the adaption of high school English teachers to the new curriculum reform. |
