| In recent years,the content of Chinese teaching in Indonesia has a new trend of deepening from basic Chinese teaching to special purpose Chinese teaching,and the Mandarin teachers in China and Indonesia will show a two-way interaction and diversified development trend,and the Chinese teachers in Indonesia have gradually become more educated,standardized and professional.However,there are also some problems,such as unstable teachers who can not meet the needs,the current textbooks are not practical and attractive enough,the pertinence of Chinese education is not strong,the language environment is insufficient,and the regional development is unbalanced.These characteristics are also reflected in the Manado region,such as Manado’s tourism Chinese training is in its infancy,also facing the problems of unstable teachers,lack of language environment and so on.By consulting the literature,the results show that the investigation of the status of Chinese learning in Indonesia is mainly concentrated in Java Island,Sumatra Island and Kalimantan Island.The survey and research of the status and the development of Chinese on Sulawesi Island are very little,and Manado as the capital city of North Sulawesi,its tourism industry has developed rapidly in recent years,and many Chinese tourists prefer to come here which has also affected Chinese teaching in this area.Therefore,the author selected two representative schools in Manado,the capital city of North Sulawesi Island——St.Nicholas Lokon School and Tridharma School as the survey objects,of which St.Nicholas Lokon School is a non-urban school,Confucian Institute cooperative school,and Tridharma School is an urban school,non-Confucian Institute cooperative school,took these two schools as an example to investigate and analyze the problems existing in Chinese teaching in Manado,and combined with the actual situation for further analysis.Some suggestions were put forward for the development of Chinese teaching in Manado area.The article is mainly based on the results of the survey on teachers and students in these two schools.The students were mainly surveyed on the Chinese learning attitudes,learning difficulties,learning effects,after-school learning situation,evaluation and views of teachers of the two schools,etc.It was be found that the Chinese learning effect of the students of Tridharma School in Manado is better than that of the students of St.Nicholas Lokon School.There are reasons of the teaching,learning enthusiasm,and school attention.And discovered the problems that existed in the two schools,as well as their own individual problems.The Chinese teachers of these two school were mainly investigated on the teaching methods,views on teaching sites or schools,views on students,views on Indonesian Chinese communities,and their own self-learning and development.It was found that there is a shortage and aging of local Chinese teachers in Manado.The Chinese teachers lack of organizing classroom activities,and mainly rely on blackboard writing and rarely use multimedia teaching,and lack training and self-learning and development.Based on these findings and combined with teaching experience,the author mainly put forward some suggestions for Chinese teaching in Manado from the aspects of curriculum setting and teaching management,creating an extra-curricular Chinese learning environment,teachers’ learning and self-development,developing new urban teaching site and tourism Chinese.In addition to shortcomings and problems,the survey found that the teaching of tourism Chinese in Manado area has begun.In 2019,the famous scenic spot of Tomohon City-the Danau Linow Lake cooperated with the St.Nicholas Lokon School to develop tourism Chinese training for their employees.It had be proved effective.This has also laid the foundation for the development of tourism Chinese teaching in Manado area.The author summarized some teaching experience and Indonesian Chinese version of the common Indonesian dishes,beverage name and common vocabulary,service terms and so on,to provide some teaching materials and teaching content for the further development of tourism Chinese teaching in Manado area.Although the Chinese teaching in Manado is still in the initial stage of development,there are some problems such as insufficient class hours,lack of teachers,and at the same time,English teaching is still dominant,but Chinese education has been paid more and more attention to,many schools have opened Mandarin courses,and one school opened Mandarin courses last year as the author know,so the Chinese education in Manado has big room for development and prospects for development. |
