A Report On E-C Translation Of Globalization 4.0 Shaping A New Global Architecture In The Age Of The Fourth Industrial Revolution(Excerpts) From The Perspective Of Functional Equivalence Theory

The acceleration of global integration has strengthened economic and political cooperation among countries,and the impact of globalization is becoming more and more prominent.The major changes in technology,geopolitics,environment and society are being combined to promote globalization to a new stage—Globalization 4.0,whose development trajectory depends largely on how governments,enterprises and international governance at all levels adapt to these changes.Globalization 4.0 Shaping a New Global Architecture in the Age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution is a typical economic text.This translation report is based upon the E-C translation practice of its first three chapters.Specifically,with the guidance of functional equivalence theory,it is to analyze the translation strategies employed during the fulfillment of the task on the lexical,syntactic and discoursal levels.This report is mainly divided into five chapters.Serving as the introduction,the first chapter is devoted to a description of the task,its significance and the structure of the report.Focusing upon the translation process,the second chapter presents pre-translation preparation,difficulties encountered at the while-translation stage,and post-translation work.As a theoretical support,chapter three systematically introduces the principles and applications of functional equivalence theory.In chapter four the translator focuses on the case studies of translation to analyze the translation strategies and methods.As the main part of this report,the translator conducted a detailed analysis of the text from three aspects.The fifth chapter is the conclusion of this translation practice report,including the summary of the translation strategies,translator’s gains and deficiencies of the translation.
