A Report On The E-C Translation Of "Offering Circular Of Yinchuan Tonglian Captial Investment Operation Co.,Ltd"

In recent years,more and more Chinese enterprises turn their eyes to the global market and expand their influence with the rapid growth of global economy and accelerating process of globalization.Hence,the translation of economic texts is increasingly important.This E-C translation report is related to an economic text about issuance of bonds.The title of this paper is “Offering Circular of Yinchuan Tonglian Capital Investment Operation Co.,Ltd.”,which mainly introduces the company’s relevant articles of issuance of bonds and company profile.The source text belongs to economic text that includes many economic terms,so the translator looked up a lot of materials to acquire relevant professional knowledge.The translator chose Nida’s functional equivalence as a guiding theory because of the economic text features,such as many professional terms and complex sentence structure.In the process of translation,the translator found many difficulties in profes sional terms,passive voice and long and difficult sentences because of lacking relevant knowledge in economic filed.On the guidance of Nida’s functional equivalence,the translator used literal translation and free translation and also used some translation skills such as addition,omission,division,and combination.The translator solved problems mentioned and also achieved lexical equivalence,syntactic equivalence and textual equivalence.The translation steps include three parts: before translation,while translation and after translation and the translator analyzed the difficulties while translation.First,the translator analyzed the source text and introduced this translation task briefly.Second,the translator described the whole translation process.Third,the translator stated difficulties while translation and gave corresponding solutions.Finally,the translator summarized this translation task and made a reflection of the task.This translation practice report is expected to give some suggestions to MTI students.
