Entering the new century,the concept of “teachers as researchers” has been accepted by primary and middle school teachers,and experimental research has become one of the most basic teaching research methods.In 2015,with the reform of new curriculum,core literacy has become one of the hottest topics in China,which makes teachers in primary and secondary schools pay close attention to subject core literacy.The key competency of a subject is the concretion of core literacy in a specific subject,which embodies the value,scientific characteristics and key achievements of subject education.According to the concept of core literacy,the key competency of English literacy includes language ability,thinking quality,cultural awareness and learning ability.This research takes 90 students from the fifth grade of S Primary School in Lu'an City,which is based on the cultivation of the key competency,is a systematic research on the teaching of picture book reading among the high grade pupils.It mainly adopts the methods of literature research and experimental research,questionnaire survey and observation in classroom.In this essay,the author primarily discusses and analyzes the selection of English picture book teaching method,teaching evaluation approach,the stimulation of students' interest,the cultivation of reading habits and other issues.The research also analyzes the practical problems in the teaching of English picture book reading in senior primary school,then it puts forward specific suggestions based on the experimental data.This research shows that English picture books can improve students' interest and their reading level.Due to the lack of language atmosphere,the pupils in our country have no access to the authentic English.Some relevant extracurricular reading resources should be introduced,and the content of picture books should be optimized,which are based on the present textbook.The cultivation of the core quality will benefit for the students' lifelong development. |
