| In the history of modern Chinese literature.Yu Dafu is a writer with an important position and influence.once ranked with Lu Xun and was known as "China’s Rousseau" among the educated youth of China. In October 1921.Yu Dafu’s masterpiece "ChenLun" was published by the Shanghai Taitung Books Bureau. This is the earliest collection of vernacular novels in the history of new Chinese literature, which has received attention and comment from the literary community since its inception, and is now almost a hundred years old.But I argue that existing interpretations of the "Chenlun"-the Collection of stories draw too many inferences from the context of the times, and instead limit our exploration of’ the text’s space of meaning. The aesthetic flavor of the collection "Chenlun" has not been lost with the historical changes as the context of the era has faded away,so it is necessary to return to the text and explore a richer aesthetic space.Taking the interpretation and criticism of the Collection in domestic literary circles from the 1920s to the present as the reference and focusing on the metaphor of hypochondria" in it,this paper attempts to make a more detailed interpretation of its theme and significance start from the development process of hypochondria and the description of "sick psychology".This paper is divided into following six parts. The introduction discusses the research significance of this subject, the current academic reseach situation, ideas and methodsThe first chapter brief introduces the contents of the Collection, and analyzes its constant interpretation process in the 20th century Chinese literature field in detail.comparing with Yu Dafu’s self-description of its theme. Its key theme interpreted by literary circles have been changing in different periods, and on the other hand.the author’s interpretations was contradictory in different periods. This paper believes that the "hypochondria" mentioned in the preface, which is closest to the author’s writing mood at that time.can be taken as a good research clue. The second chapter explores the reasons why Yu Dafu chose "hypochondria" as an important metaphor for the Collection from both external and internal perspectives. This paper thinks that on one hand,it is related to his own growth experience and his own melancholy temperament.especially his study experience in Japan, which has an important influence on his writing;on the other hand,it is also closely related to the influence of the prevailing literary trend in the Japanese literary world. The third chapter is a specific textual analysis of the Sinking collection.Through combing through the development of "melancholy" in "ChenLun",analyzing the relationship between"sexual misery" and "melancholy",we explore what the "sick youth’s psychological demands"really are,and how they continue to be reflected in "Southward Movement" and "Silver Gray Death".The psychoanalytic definition of depression as a cultural metaphor is used to explore the psychological and behavioral implications of the main character’s depression, and to further discuss the final developmental outcome of depression. The epilogue is a summary of this paper.Through the discussion of "hypochondria" in the Collection,we find that that "sexual misery",which has always been a point of contention in the novel,is only a part of the development of the main character’s "depression",and that the real concern of the novel is not the appearance of the "sexual behavior" of the characters, but the hidden psychological activity in the background. The writer is anxious about his self-identity as a Chinese citizen at the time, and his "self-mutilation" is the writer’s self-destructive act after he cannot get rid of this mental predicament. For reference, the appendix collects the research materials of Yu Dafu and the Collection from the 20th century to the 21th century in the Japanese academic circle, puts them in the chronological order, and gives a brief description of some of the articles which can be read. |
