The Study On The Application Of Calligraphic Elements To China’s Movie Posters

In order to better embody the local features of movies,the calligraphic presentation of distinctive national cultures are usually adopted in their creation.The most commonly employed calligraphies include seal script,official script,regular script,cursive script and clerical script,all of which are precious gems of national culture in the long run of our history.The integration of traditional calligraphies into movie posters can not only better convey the movie theme and contents but also amplify their visual effects,emphasize the existence of national culture and animate the image embodied in the movie posters,thus a stronger artistic attraction and beautifulness is achieved.Through the study on calligraphic scripts,a better application of them could be realized in China’ s movie posters,as it is of great significance to combine the promotion of traditional Chinese culture and the adaption to international aesthetics in the rapidly developed international market.This paper,composed of five chapters,tends to explore the application of the calligraphic scripts in movie posters.The first chapter introduces the arrangements of the paper from the perspectives of background,purposes,significance and methodology.The second chapter introduces China’ s movie posters and traditional calligraphic script by defining the meaning and classifying its development,and then introduces the five traditional calligraphies namely seal script,official script,regular script,cursive script and clerical script.The third chapter firstly analyses the information conveyed in movie posters and the new appeals to fortify their images.The fourth chapter carries a in-depth exploration on the values of calligraphic application in movie posters by separately analyzing the rules and methods during the process.The fifth chapter displays the relevant tentative studies of the author in combining the theories of this paper,so as to express the author’ s understanding to the subject under study.The final conclusion wraps up the main ideas and general analysis and combs the general process and ideology of the paper.This paper tends to carry out an in-depth analysis on the theme of the application of the calligraphic scripts to the designing of the movie posters,analyzing their characteristics,describing the advantages,principles and methods of the approach,in order to display its profoundness and promote traditional culture.This paper covers with a panoramic view the development of movie posters and the features of calligraphic scripts and describes the their implication in movie posters and tries to reveal the integration of them and the way to demonstrate this.
