As a special group, college student Christians in universities are getting more and more attention, and their living patterns and psychological characteristics have also become the focus of many studies. This article, from the perspective of sociolinguistics, explores the linguistic characteristics of the Christian community in colleges—there are variations that do not conform to the daily Chinese language.Since this group has the same beliefs and has a more consistent attitude and evaluation criteria for their own language,it can be regarded as a "speech community".Therefore, under the guidance of the theory of language variation and the theory of speech community,we investigated and analyzed the language of this Christian group.First, based on the 100,000-word corpus collected in the "speech community" and the translation of the "New Punctuation and Synthetic Bible",this article summarizes that the language variation of this group is mainly divided into lexical and grammatical variations. As a special phenomenon of linguistic variation in this group,"taboo" includes both taboo words that belong to lexical variation and taboo constructs that belong to grammatical variation.Secondly, through the results of questionnaires and interviews, this article explains the characteristics of the use to taboos and other variant languages, and depicts the phenomenon of code switching of this group. They are constrained by factors such as grade, individual beliefs, and identity within the speech community, which presenting a certain pattern and having an important impact on the construction of Christian individual identity.Thirdly,By comparing the variation of imaging-time between the two groups of students and graduates, and the real-time of the same language community before and after two years later, the result shows that the taboo words of the Christian community are broken variations, while other mutated languages are ongoing changes. Finally, this article explores the reasons for the variation from the perspective of Chinese and external social factors, and points out that the impact of the translation of the Bible on Christian languages is the most important reason. The full text is divided into six chapters. The first and sixth chapters are introductions and conclusions. The remaining four chapters are specific explanations of the above content. The research content is innovative and inadequate. We hope that it can provide new value for the research of the Christian community in colleges.
