Study On The Relationship Between Uncertainty In Illness、Medical Social Support And Quality Of Life About Family Members Of Patients In Mental Illness | | Posted on:2020-07-05 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:M J Sun | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2415330605980027 | Subject:Applied psychology | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | ObjectiveThrough research to understand the uncertainty of illness,medical social support and quality of life on the family members of mental illness patients,to explore the relationship between the uncertainty of illness and medical social support and quality of life on the family members of mental illness patients,for improving their quality of life and quality of care provides a reference basis.MethodThis study adopts the menthod of convenient sampling.The questionnaire survey was conducted among 95 family members of mental illness patients who met the survey requirements in Zibo Mental Health Center.The questionnaires included a general information questionnaire of family members of psychiatric patients,a uncertainty of illness scale(PPUS-FM),a medical social support scale(MOS-SSS)and a health-related quality of life scale(SF-36).The analysis were conducted by SPSS software.Result1.The average score of illness uncertainty of family members of psychiatric patients was(88.95+14.13);the average score of medical social support was(54.71±17.95);and the average score of quality of life was(535.92±106.34).2.Relevant analysis showed that the uncertainty of the family members of psychiatric patients was negative correlation with medical social support(P<0.01),whereas negative correlation with quality of life(P<0.01).Medical social support also had a positive correlation with quality of life of the family members of psychiatric patients(P<0.01).3.The multiple linear regressions of family members of psychiatric patients showed that the monthly income,working situation and health situation were entered the regression equation model.The regression coefficient was 0.534,which could explain 26.2%of the variance.4.The results of mediating effect analysis showed that the effect of illness uncertainty of family members of psychiatric patients was mediated by medical social support and the mediating effect of medical social support was 56.89%of the total effect.Conclusion1.The family members of patients with mental illness have a high level of illness uncertainty,a medium level of medical and social support,and a relatively low level of quality of life.2.There is a correlation between the uncertainty,medical social support and quality of life of the family members of mental illness patients.The lower the medical social support of the families of mental patients,the higher the uncertainty of illness and the lower the quality of life.3.There are differences in the quality of life of family members of patients with mental illness in terms of patient’s medical diagnosis,course of illness,medical payment ways,residence of family members,relationship with patients and health situation of family members.The patient’s course of illness,working situation and health situation can predict their quality of life.4.Medical social support plays a partial mediating role in the uncertainty of illness and the quality of life of patients’ family members which indicates that workers can improve the level of medical social support of family members,reduce the uncertainty of illness and improve the quality of life. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Mental Illness, Family Members, Uncertainty of Illness, Medical Social Support, Quality of Life | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
