New literature has been closely entangled with social reality and politics since its birth. On the one hand, literature has inseparable links with modern Chinese society.Since the Opium War,especially after the May Fourth Movement, the mission of new literature to inspired the people's wisdom in the field of ideology and saved lives was related to the important task of the country and nation. In the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China,Chinese literature imitated the way of Soviet and Russian literature with a strong political color, and then served with real politics with increasing utilitarian consciousness. The autonomy of writers was greatly suppressed. The author's creative autonomy was greatly suppressed, and the richness of the style of the novel itself was intentionally narrowed. In the late 1970 s and early 1980 s,scar literature and reflective literature still could not completely get rid of the rigid literary creation model. The writer intentionally or unintentionally sought a breakthrough but "not enough words",but the factors of the stylistic change of the novel still flashed in it.On the other hand,in modern times, under the background of forced beatings,Chinese culture lost its self-confidence and was shrouded in the shadow of learning from the West.Whether it was a large number of translations and introductions of Western literature during the May 4th period,or literary creations of life, symbolism, and crescentism, there was a so-called turn in modernity in literature.Especially in the 1980 s,due to China's reform and opening up policy and the appeal of literature to the world,it once again pushed the modern pursuit of literature to a new historical stage.Pioneering literary experiments and avant-garde literary discourse transformed the literary world in the 1980 s into an experimental field for western modern literature. However, the modernity of literature is always inseparable from the tradition. The modernity of Chinese literature must be the modernity of Chinese cultural genes, and the modernity of integrating traditional Chinese culture and world culture.Authors such as Lu Xun,Yu Dafu,Feiming,Shen Congwen and Xiao Hong set out to create modern lyric novels.By the 1980 s,the creations of writers such as Wang Zengqi,He Liwei, and Shi Tiesheng further inherited the lyrical elements of traditional Chinese literature on the basis of their predecessors, and also laid the foundation for the establishment of the contemporary Chinese literary tradition and the integrated development of contemporary literature. At the same time,in the context of China's going global, writers such as Ma Yuan,Wang Meng, and Can Xue borrowed a lot from the Western modernist novel's creative experience in the 1980 s,especially focusing on the exploration of the external form of literature, which formed an impact on Chinese literary tradition. But literature is more than a matter of form. The vanguard literature in the late 1980 s was short-lived and soon declined. This shows from another aspect that without the integration of Chinese cultural elements,Western culture has no foundation. In celebrating the 95 th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China,General Secretary Xi Jinping specifically emphasized that “the entire party must be confident in the road, theoretically, systematically, and culturally,” among which“cultural self-confidence is more basic, broader, and deeper.” What matters is not the age in which the discourse was spoken, but in which era it was spoken. From a macro perspective, regarding literature as a cultural element, research on 80's lyric novels in the current context has important theoretical and practical significance to the inheritance of the excellent cultural traditions of the Chinese nation, the construction of Chinese culture and the establishment of cultural confidence in the new era,and the trend of Chinese culture towards the "Belt and Road".From a micro perspective, the study of lyric novels in the 1980 s is not only conducive to the healthy development of contemporary novel creation, but also to the construction of contemporary Chinese literature, the study of contemporary literary history, the evaluation of contemporary literary classics, and the inheritance and development of Chinese literary traditions. The first part of this article analyzes the lyrical tradition and the lyric novels of the1980 s from two dimensions: lyric tradition and Chinese literature, development of lyric novels in the 1980 s.The tradition of Chinese lyrical literature originated from the Book of Songs and Chu Ci,which deeply influenced different literary styles.Modern lyric novels were open sourced by Lu Xun,and had made a clear path with the joint efforts of Yu Dafu,Shen Congwen,Xiao Hong and others. In the 1980 s,the lyrical novels experienced two stages: the beginning period and the conscious period.Writers such as Jia Pingwa,Shi Tiesheng, and Tie Ning devoted themselves to their creations, and explored effective ways to break through the rigid novel creation mode based on their national literature resources.Among them,Wang Zengqi's prose novels and He Liwei's poetic novels stand out stylistically, and Lin Jinlan's "weird novels" have a unique flavor. The second part analyzes the discourse characteristics of lyric novels in the 1980 s.The cultural attention and writing of the lyric novels in the 1980 s showed the literaryaesthetics' seeking for difference and the pursuit of individual subjectivity.Under the boom of "going global",Chinese literature needs to integrate the outstanding literary elements of various countries while maintaining nationality.Lyric novels in the 1980 s focused on expressing nationality and writing Chinese stories with Chinese expressions. When the enthusiasm for studying western modern novels and stylistic experiments was blown up in the literary world,it could flexibly use foreign novels' creative skills while focusing on the national lyrical literary tradition and using long-established techniques and experiences for stylistic exploration."Lyricism" is one of the aspects of Chinese literature. In the 1980 s,lyric novels expressed humanitarianism and human rights discourse, and actively carried out "discourse breakthrough".The third part studies the artistic characteristics of lyric novels in the 1980 s.In the1980 s,the lyric novel writers paid special attention to the elaboration of language, and used descriptive and musical poetic language in their works. They often used rhetorical methods such as literary and promiscuous sentences, confrontation, and synaesthesia. They also used dialects to show the original regional culture, which brought endless philosophies to readers. The creation of a unified, complete image, mood, and atmosphere made the 80 s lyric novels have classical beauty. The dilute plot, character and era background were its powerful counter-attacks to the novel's creative mode in the special period. The lyric novels of the 1980 s also used poetic thinking to construct texts, and used their conscious cultural consciousness to depict and dig their own national culture. The fourth part analyzes the value of 80's lyric novels and reflects on them. The lyric novels of the 1980 s inherited the tradition of Chinese lyrical literature, allowing the context of Chinese lyrical literature to continue and develop further. The valuable experience of the development of modern Chinese lyric novels could be borrowed and carried forward in the creation of lyric novels in the 1980 s,making the lyric novels have showed a clear source. The careful depiction of local customs and conditions has made China's colorful regional culture vividly displayed and preserved in the novels. However, the lyric novels of the 1980 s also have shortcomings such as falling into a fun maze and obstructed reading caused by obscure language, which require researchers and readers to look at and analyze dialectically.
