| According to the Learning Pyramid,there is a big difference on learning retention rate in two weeks between active learning and passive learning.In addition,the senior high school entrance examination pays more and more attention to the students’ comprehensive language ability nowadays.Therefore,the traditional three-round English review model which is about going through textbooks,training special items,doing lots of exercises,is no longer applicable.Because most students learn passively and have low efficiency of learning in this way.In 2018,Chengdu Junior High School English Teaching and Research Center promoted the reform of English review lessons throughout the city,adopting a new review model in terms of topic which helps students take part in the lessons actively and have a higher efficiency of learning.The author has observed plenty of review lessons in terms of topic,studied through the online “micro-teaching” programs and done researches about various review lessons in terms of topic in different kinds of competitions.Then,through analysis,combing and summing up,the author have found out the basic teaching process of review lessons in terms of topic for junior high school students and the practical operation methods:Before class--prepare the review lessons: 1.Have a clear understanding of the division of the topic-the main topic and the corresponding subtopics,and the relative units in the textbooks about this topic.2.Prepare the materials for listening,speaking,reading and writing of the review lesson.3.Arrange students to summarize what they’ve learned by using mind map.In class,show the mind maps by students themselves and activate the important language knowledge related to the topic.Then review this topic in terms of listening,speaking and reading.After class,arrange students to do some writing related to this topic and do some exercises based on this topic.Finally,the author points out the limitations of this study,such as locality,subjectivity and so on.The author also hopes that the excellent review lessons in terms of topic can be made into a book so that it will be convenient for the teachers to use. |
