Margaret Atwood, known as "the queen of Canadian Literature",has made great contributions to the Renaissance of Canadian literature.Atwood has written a lot of novels, poems and critical articles. In particular, her novels,as an important way for her to participate in social life, reveal her thinking and exploration of sexual relations everywhere. Her novels can be called a miniature version of the history of human sexual relations.Sexual relationship is one of the themes that can not be ignored in Atwood's last novel. Her novels are almost all about the relationship between men and women.Among them, the setting of the plot, the shaping of the characters and the selection of the artistic techniques are all integrated into the author's exploration of the relationship between the sexes.Atwood shows his attitude in the novel, thinking and exploring the possibility and methods of gender harmony. It can be said that Atwood's reflection on the relationship between men and women can be seen everywhere in the novel, which always attracts the readers' attention.Atwood's reflection on the relationship between men and women has been advancing with the times. There are two kinds of gender imbalance in her novels: the first belongs to the traditional gender imbalance.Atwood's early works are consistent with the previous female novels, that is,through describing the love, marriage and family life of men and women,to analyze the nature of gender relationship, love and marriage, and to explore the significance of women's existence. The sexual relationship in Atwood's novels is often described as the violence of men against women,so the sexual relationship is tense. The second category belongs to the imbalance of modern sexual relations.Atwood's novels also depict another extreme sexual relationship, that is,the binary opposition advocated by extreme feminism or the sexual relationship with women as the main body.Atwood's attitude towards this is also negative. The realization of gender equality, including image equality, genderequality and discourse equality,is the prerequisite for building a harmonious relationship between men and women. This reflective strategy of gender equality is reflected in the depiction of men's and women's daily lives.Image equality refers to the difference and respect between men and women, while gender equality refers to the difference and respect between men and women.Discourse equality refers to the authority of structural gender discourse,so as to achieve equal dialogue.Atwood criticizes the tendency of feminism that often appears in women's resistance to the patriarchal system, which often leads to more serious sexual confrontation and emphasizes the supremacy of women.Gender harmony is not only a concept beyond gender equality, but also the ultimate goal of Atwood. In Atwood's works, the pursuit of harmony can be seen everywhere. They not only pay attention to the harmony of ecological environment, politics and society, but also the most important basic factor reflected by these harmony is the harmony of gender relations. This kind of harmony includes equality, justice, freedom, tolerance and other rich connotations, mainly reflected in the concept of harmony, temperament harmony, subject harmony. The harmonious relationship between men and women is the eternal pursuit of human beings, and Atwood has been looking for a way to achieve it.
