“the Great Learning” is a very important classic in the history of Chinese traditional culture.As a character in the history of Neo-Confucianism who is between Guan school and Luo school,also between Cheng and Zhu,Lv Dalin's interpretation of“ the Great Learning ” not only has its own characteristics,but also in the critical period of upgrading the Great Learing to classic,inherit the thought of “ the Great Learning ” by Zheng Xuan,Kong Yingda and Zhang Zai,Cheng Hao,Cheng Yi,and influence Zhu Xi's interpretation of “ the Great Learning ”.It has an important significant in the interpretation history of “ the Great Learning”.This paper introduces the course of “the Great Learning” and Lv Dalin and his works,and explains the general situation of Lv Dalin's “the Great Learning interpretation”.On this basis,analyzes and discusses Lv Dalin's thought of the Great Learing.Firstly,Lv Dalin's understanding of the word “the Great Learning”,contains two aspects.One of the perspective is teaching,he thinks that the teaching of “ the Great Learning” includes “de” and “dao”,which is the teaching after “primary school”.One of the perspective is sense of meaning,he thinks that “ the Great Learning” is “ the Learning of sages ”,is “ the Learning of thoroughly explore the nature of humanity and all things ”,and is also a knowledge that people do not lose their childlike heart(conscience).Secondly,Lv's interpretation of “ Ming Mingde ”as thoroughly explore and self-evident,interpretation of “ Qinmin ” as extend to the people,interpretation of “stop at the Zhishan” as learning to Cheng.Furthermore,Lv inherit Yichuan,translate “Ge” as “Zhi”,interpret Gewu Zhizhi as thoroughly explore the nature of humanity and all things.It also quotes the “Cheng” with metaphysical meaning in “The Mean” to explain “Chengyi”.As for “Zhengxin”,that is to keep a childlike heart or conscience.Lv Dalin call these “self-cultivation” efforts are“ morality in oneself ”,about the inner self.He call regulating the family,administer a country,pacify the world are “cure others”,expressed the views of the same structure of family and country,the way of moments,morality as fundamental,end with financial resources,benefit is the same as people,there is for the outside world.The so-called “way of the Great Learning”,it is to integrate inside and outside.Based on the investigation of Lv Dalin's “the Great Learning interpretation”,this paper points out the characteristics of its interpretation of “ the Great Learning ”.Hequoted the words of the doctrine of the mean and other Confucian classics to explain“ the Great Learning”,this is its basic characteristic.On this basis,Lv's interpretation of “ the Great Learning” shows the obvious tendency of inner nature and meaning,and reflects the characteristics of between Guan school and Luo school,concurrent adopt Zhang and Cheng,and reflects “ zi Ming-Cheng ” and “ zi Cheng-Ming ” two methods of approach.
