| At present,customers’ specific requirements have been taken into consideration in China’s translation market.Non-literary translation accounts for almost 95% of the whole market,while most translation theories are directed at literary translation.Therefore,it is very important to explore translation theories applied to non-literary translation during translation practice.Under Newmark’s communicative translation theory,this paper analyzes the types and functions of economic text and proposes specific translation strategies with the example of The 100-Year Life.This book introduces a novel idea about working and living in a longevity life and the language in this book is meaningful for translation study.To solve economic difficulties,translators should enrich the background knowledge and verify the terminology through multiply means,such as referring to parallel text,giving full play to translators’ subjectivity through critical thinking and communicating with English speakers.While for linguistic difficulties,translators should respect the source text author’s meaning and reader’s perception.To achieve the best integration between the source text author and the target text readers,this report adopts skills like passive-active conversion and information restructuring under the guidance of communicative translation theory.This report takes the best integration of translator’s subjectivity,author’s information and reader’s acceptance into consideration,providing a new angle for economic translation study.Through the analysis and research on the difficulties and features of economic text translation,it explores the translation techniques and stylistic styles applicable to text translation in economic fields. |
