Tristan and Isolde,as the peak of Wagner's musical creation and a milestone in the history of Western music, expresses the composer's praise of the hero and heroine's pursuit of love.Because Tristan and Isolde has a huge curtain, profound connotation and extremely complex music, this paper takes the relationship between dramatic development and dominant motives in the core scenes of the play as the main line, and uses the methods of Musicological analysis, social history, music philosophy and other research methods to explore the mystery of the play. The full text mainly consists of five parts, namely, the first chapter "Tristan and Isolde" creation background and the core scene arrangement, the second chapter "Toxic Drugs" longing for and the unattainable painful love, the third chapter "Love Duet" Hongda poetry in the psychological conflict, the fourth chapter "Death of Love" Wagner's pessimistic philosophy and the ultimate pursuit of life and conclusions. The first chapter is divided into two parts. In the first part, through the analysis of the composer's emotional experience, philosophical thought and political life, the social and historical causes of the play are discussed. The second part is a reasonable explanation of the arrangement of the core scenes in Tristan and Isolde.By comparing the plot of Gottfried's novel Tristan and Isolde with the script of Wagner's musical Tristan and Isolde, the connotation of the evolution of the work is explained. In the second chapter, starting with the core scene of Act I,Together Drinking "Poison",the author explores the relationship between Wagner's dramatic development and the dominant motivation and image in this scene. This chapter mainly chooses "Tristan's Honor Motivation","Desire Motivation","Sword Motivation" and "Love Drug" as the main research objects, and then interprets the relationship between the dominant motivation and the dramatic development.Chapter Three starts with the core scene of Act II,Love Duet, and focuses on the analysis of the relationship between the important dominant motives, images and dramatic development in the musical. In terms of the dominant motives, the chapter is mainly divided into the upward melodic motives representing Tristan's and Isolde's erotic desires and the repression of King Mark's power because there are a lot of dominant motives in the corescene. There are two types of downward melodic motivation. In the second section, the metaphor focuses on the three images of "day","night" and "fire" for analysis and discussion,so as to better understand the relationship between the dominant motivation in the core scene and the development of drama.Chapter IV starts with the core scene of Act III,Death of Love, and explores the relationship between Wagner's dramatic development and dominant motivation and image in this scene. This chapter mainly chooses "death of love","final comfort","death" and redemption as the main research objects, and then interprets the relationship between dominant motivation and dramatic development,so as to better interpret the musical Triss. The relationship between the development of drama and the evolution of dominant motives in Tan and Isolde.
