An Analysis Of Wu Zengqi’s Stylistic Theory In The Literary Discussion Of Han Fenlou

Stylistics has a long history in ancient China.In Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern Dynasties,it appeared the first Pi’s Classical Treatise and Liu Xie’s Carving a Dragon at the Core of Literature:An Interpretation that made Stylistics enter a mature stage.It was a peak perid of the development of stylistics.The Ming and the Qing dynasties is another peak of the Development of stylistic Theory,particularly,the emergence of Yao Nai and Zeng Guofan’s stylistics was of great significance to stylistics.Wu Zengqi’s stylistic theory had developed on the basis of inheriting his predecessors.Wu Zengqi’s "style" has three meanings: style,also known as genre,in short,is the category of the article;system refers to the norms of the style,including content and form factors;and style refers to the aesthetic characteristics of the article.Wu Zengqi’s stylistic theory inherited the previous theories,but had another development.First Wu Zengqi’s stylistics mainly inherited Liu Xie’s theory of relationship between the Name and Substance.It holds that "name" and "reality" have two meanings and uses the relationship between name and reality to identify specific styles.Second Wu Zengqi also inherited the former thought of "distinguishing style" and believed that the author’s writing should follow the principle of "each style had its own style".The purpose of distinguishing style was to guide the author’s writing and reading.On this basis,he putted forward how to guide the author’s writing and reading.By distinguishing style,which was more practical than other style theories.Wu Zengqi’s theory of style putted forward the theory of "body appearance based on Yin and Yang" in the inheritance theory of Yao and Zeng’s theory of "Feminine masculinity".It took the author’s "Qi" as the theoretical core of the theory of "Feminine masculinity".And he thought that the author’s personality could be divided into Yang and Yin,while the article,influenced by the author’spersonality,could be divided into "the article of Yang Qi" and "the article of Yin Qi".Wu Zengqi’s stylistic theory included stylistic changes,stylistic paradigms and stylistic methods.First of all,Wu Zengqi considered that the style was constantly developing and changing.In the process of development,there would be phenomena such as "there is nothing from the ancient to the present" or "there is nothing from the ancient to the present",which was the Stylistic changes.Secondly,Wu Zengqi believed that there would be different writing paradigms for different themes and contents: emotion should be integrated into reason and description should be vivid;thirdly,Wu Zengqi held that argumentation’s method of writing is different from narrative’s.He discussed the method of argumentation and narrative.Wu Zengqi’s style theory has certain enlightenment.First of all,Wu Zengqi’s stylistic theory enriches and perfects the "history" and "theory" of stylistics;second,Wu Zengqi’s stylistic theory enlightens contemporary writers to consciously strengthen their sense of style.Because of the lack of style consciousness of contemporary writers,there are various problems in style writing,such as the style format being not standardized,the style requirements being not clear,so it is necessary to strengthen the author’s sense of style.Finally,Wu Zengqi’s theory of style also discusses the specific methods of writing argumentative and narrative articles,and these methods are also applicable to today’s argumentative and narrative writing.Wu Zengqi’s theory of style also has some limitations.Wu Zengqi had a distinct concept of the superiority and inferiority of styles,he believed that there was not equality between styles,but a hierarchy of the superiority and inferiority,positive change.However,it is of great academic value to study Wu Zengqi’s stylistics.
