Learning style is a kind of personalized cognitive way that learners naturally show in the process of learning,so the study of learning style has a very positive significance for improving learning effect and teaching level.Under the Internet Plus era,with the constant changes and innovations of teaching objects and teaching environment and means,what are the possible changes in the learning styles of vocational college students?Guided by the theory of Perceptual Learning Style,this study aims to study the perceptual learning style preferences of Higher Vocational College Students in the new Internet era and the combination of blended learning,which is the mainstream learning method nowadays,and to explore a feasible blended learning teaching mode suitable for English classes in Higher Vocational colleges.In this study,99 students from four freshmen classes in the Department of Transportation and Tourism of Guangxi Eco-engineering Vocational and Technical College were selected as subjects.Variance analysis and pared-samples T test were used to explore the correlation between the two variables.This paper mainly answers the following two questions:?1?What is the overall situation of vocational students in learning style in the Internet plus era??2?What are the differences in learning styles of vocational college students of different genders?The questionnaire quoted from Reid?1987?and Tan Dingliang?1995?were used as the survey tools to analyze the mobile phone collected data by SPSS.View from the perspective of students‘overall learning style,students'most favorite learning style is kinesthetic learning,and then followed by auditory learning and visual learning.Group learning style ranks 4thh and individual learning ranks 5th.Students'least favorite learning style is dependent learning.In the dimension of Perceptual Learning Style,kinesthetic learning style accounts for the largest proportion,followed by auditory and visual LS.The data show that students in higher vocational colleges are not good at individual learning and have autonomy in learning.2.Through pared-samples T-test,it is found that the most favored learning style of boys is kinesthetic LS,followed by auditory and visual LS,and the 4th is group LS and 5th is individual LS,and the least favored one is dependent LS.Girls'learning style preferences are similar to those of boys',but with some subtle differences.Among the surveyed girls,kinesthetic learning is their favorite LS,followed by visual and auditory learning,and then followed by group LS and dependent LS.The least favored LS is individual learning.Through interviews and analysis of interviewee'data,it is found that students with multiple learning styles have achieved better academic performance;while students with single learning style have lower or relatively poorer academic performance.Among the students tested,those who prefer kinesthetic,auditory and visual learning style also have higher scores than those who don't like them.Basing on the above findings,the author suggests that college teachers should design teaching activities according to students'learning styles,and at the same time pay attention to guiding and broadening the learning styles which have a significant positive relationship with grades,and guide students to adopt appropriate learning strategies to make up for the shortcomings of their learning styles,so as to truly teach students in accordance with their aptitude.From the point of view of students,students should first identify their learning styles and preferences,and secondly in terms of learning make full use of their own learning preferences to promote learning,once again,the students should make full use of the convenience of network multimedia environment,strengthen their learning styles and habits,and under the guidance of teachers try some kinds of learning styles that can promote their learning.Although some progresses have been made in this study,there are still some limitations.The students in the survey are mainly from rural areas.The data can only reflect the English learning style of Vocational College Students in the underdeveloped areas of Guangxi.As the features of LS are stable and plastic,Therefore,the author suggests that the cultivation and relative research should start from elementary education.With the rapid development of computer network technology,the deep integration of computer technology and education is the new trend of education research.How to effectively combine the adaptive learning system with students'inquiry learning process is a new thinking direction of the future research.
