| Since the introduction of the concept of art songs from the West in the early 20th century,both China and South Korea began the composition of art songs.However,over the following 100 years or so,the two countries developed defferent approaches of developing art songs.Due to differences in languages and cultural characteristics,the two countries’art songs have formed and built their own unique musical characteristics.In addition,art songs contain the characteristics of the features of the times and also the historical backgrounds.Through comparative analysis of《Teach me how to now think of him(教我如何不想他》,《Bong soong a(?》,and《That’s me(那就是我》,《The river in my heart(?)》,this paper studies the musical characteristics of art songs in the early 1920s and 1980s in China and South Korea.This paper intruduces outstanding composers and works of art songs in South Korea by comparing the history of Chinese and South Korean art songs.This paper aims to provide theoretical guidance to future Chinese singers in learning or singing Korean art songs. |
