In recent years,schema theory teaching has been favored in the field of language teaching,which has not only produced a good effect in English teaching,but also started to show its edge in Chinese teaching.Beijing language and culture university’s schema theory teaching Chinese as a foreign language is the most successful teaching case.This paper USES questionnaire survey,classroom observation,teaching design and analysis of Chinese reading situation of the students in Thailand to investigate,in combination with the author’s own experiences in yunnan normal university teaching,combines the schema theory with the Thai students reading classes,study a new mode of reading course teaching Chinese as a foreign language,this is a new attempt and exploration,hope to have the certain reference value on teaching Chinese as a foreign language reading.This paper consists of four parts.In the first part,the feasibility of combining schema theory with Thai international students’ intermediate Chinese reading class is analyzed in detail through the questionnaire survey.It is found that the application of schema theory has the following advantages: it conforms to the thinking trend of Thai international students,improves their interest in reading,connects old and new knowledge,and expands Chinese culture.The second part,based on the schema theory,designs a new reading process,that is,schema activation,schema learning and schema consolidation,on the premise of analyzing genre characteristics and teaching elements.The third part takes the schema theory as the framework,selects the exposition,the argumentation,the narration three types of articles to carry on the concrete case design,and analyzes each link’s design idea.The fourth part puts forward the teaching principles of schema theory such as people-oriented,situational creation,cooperative learning and less elaboration,and advocates teachers to adopt abundant schema,combine language input and output,train reading skills in multiple ways,and improve their comprehensive quality.The purpose is to provide some references and references for more Thai international students to teach the intermediate Chinese reading course through the above research.
