Since image production is monopolized by professionalism,minority groups are difficult to be the mainstay of image production,and it is difficult to reproduce themselves.But the Wenshan Miao people began spontaneous media production activities in the 1990 s.They used video to reconstruct their identities in different powers and diverse cultures.The spontaneous video production activities of Wenshan Miao show that minority groups can exert their initiative and use the media to subvert the relationship between the mediators and the recipients of the previous image production and communication.".How Miao language images are used and their impact is the core issue of this article.Therefore,this article aims to discuss the impact of the media on the construction of Wenshan Miao ethnic group identity through participatory observation of Wenshan Miao image production activities,and intends to solve the following specific problems: 1.Miao language image production process;2.Miao language image The process of communication;3.The process of using Miao language images;4.The characteristics of Miao language images;5.The role of Miao language images in the Miao community;6.How the Miao language images construct ethnic identity;7.The Miao language images are constructed ethnic group identity.Therefore,this study observed the production and circulation process of the Miao nationality's images in Wenshan Prefecture through ethnographic methods;it explained the characteristics of the Miao language images different from other media;combined with field investigations,it explained the role of the Miao language images in the Miao community;Analyze how Wenshan Miao people use the "reproduction" tradition and the "creation" tradition of the Miao language images to construct ethnic identity from the two latitudes of image media construction identity,namely image content and image form.Through the research on the media form of Miao language images,it is proposed that the Miao language images are produced spontaneously by the Miao people in Wenshan Prefecture based on the identity crisis and self-reproduction needs,with ethnic culture as the core and ethnic tradition as the main content,only in ethnic groups.The medium circulating within the scope;it is not only different from the domestic "independent film",but also different from the "participatory image" produced by the support and promotion of social actors or NGOs.The essence is that ethnic minority groups are in a weak position of cultural power In status,the act of actively negotiating with mainstream discourse to meet cultural needs.At the same time,the process of image practice is also the process of identity construction.Miao language images become the third space for translation and negotiation between Wenshan Miao and mainstream culture,thus constructing the current "hybrid" ethnic identity of Wenshan Miao.
