Language input and output play an important role in second language acquisition.Learning a language is actually a process in which language input and output affect and promote each other.Teachers design input and output activities scientifically can effectively improve students' comprehensive language ability.In order to learn about the current organizational situation of the input and output activities in English teaching,32 classes in The Twelfth National Junior Middle School English Demonstration Teaching were selected as research object.Based on the input and output theory,content analysis method was mainly used in this research to analyze and discuss the following aspects:(1)time distribution of input and output activities in demonstration teaching(2)degree of interaction of input activities(3)proportion of controlled activities and communicative activities in output activities(4)consistency of students' language output and language inputThrough the analysis of the 32 classes in the English demonstration teaching,the major findings are as follows.Teachers take into account both input and output activities.However,there are still a small number of teachers who set too many input activities and ignore the important role of language output in English learning;There is a certain degree of interaction of input activities,but the degree of interaction varies;Due to the difference of English classes,the proportion of time spent in controlled activities and communicative activities in output activities is different.Most teachers can balance these two kinds of activities.Most of the classes where controlled activities are less than or approximately equal to communicative activities,students can have enough time to think,discuss and write based on understanding the content.However,there are six classes where the time for controlled activities is slightly higher.Students don't have sufficient time for language communication;The language output of students in the demonstration teaching is basically consistent with the language input.The language output of students is closely related to the teaching topic.There are only four classes that the language output of the students doesn't form a good consistency with the input language.
