Space,Memory And Poetry

Documentaries use time to record reality,and space to connect the past and the present,while time and space form individual and collective memories together.When choosing a way to express memory,just like choosing a poetic habitat,poetic expression becomes the best choice.The documentary film Cai Jingxiang's Tang Dong,taking the reality as the basis of recording,the space as the visual support and the hometown complex as the emotional support,poetically tells Cai Jingxiang's memory,realistic situation and future vision about his hometown Tangdong Village.This article analyzes the graduation work Cai Jingxiang's Tang Dong from the perspectives of space,memory and poetry.Firstly,the space part uses the space theory to discuss the rural landscape presentation,the construction of image space,location and identity.Secondly,the memory section discusses the issues of memory and record,personal memory and collective memory,and the path of image expression of memory.Finally,the poetic part uses the relevant theories of poetic documentaries to explore the rhetorical techniques,aesthetic pursuits,and poetic treatment of space and memory.
