One of the most important methods for students to improve their spoken English is through completing their oral homework.However,under the traditional educational model,many students often focus on their written skills,while eschewing their oral skill due to the monotonous nature of oral homework prescribed and the teachers’ inability to supervise students’ completion of oral tasks.Over time,not only do students lose their interest in oral homework,their oral skills also plateau due to the lack of practice.In order to address these issues,Fun Dubbing Junior App was chosen as the research object.To investigate the ability of this application to improve students’ interest and attitude in learning oral skill,and ultimately resulting in improving their oral examination results,this study was conducted by using several research methods including literature review,questionnaire survey,interview and quasi-experimental study.This study examined the research’s background and context,reviewed the related theories,synthesized domestic and international researches relating to mobile learning App and oral homework.The current situation of oral English homework and mobile learning in primary schools is also explored in the form of questionnaires with students,parents and teachers,based on which the application feasibility of Fun Dubbing Junior App is analyzed and the model as well as the plan of applying mobile learning to oral English homework are designed.To prove the effectiveness of the design,the research used two similar Grade Three classes to form the observation.One class is used as the experimental group,by prescribing them with with a hybrid model of the oral learning through Fun Dubbing Junior App and the traditional oral learning.While the other group is used as the control,who were taught using only the traditional method.By comparing the two classes’ performance in oral examinationsbefore and after the experiment,and the students’ responses to the post-experiment surveys and interviews,the research arrived at its conclusion.From the experimental results,oral homework through Fun Dubbing Junior App not only improved students’ interest and attitudes towards oral homework,their oral examination results and their oral skills,it also enhanced teachers’ ability to supervise the students.As a result,the oral homework plan based on Fun Dubbing Junior App can ameliorate the deficiency in traditional teaching model for oral learning and generate a positive impact on the students.
