| With the development of economy and deepening of globalization,economic text translation has become more and more important.Therefore,the translation of Economic Evaluation of Sustainable Development is of practical significance.The project report is based on the author’s translation of Economic Evaluation of Sustainable Development(Chapter One & Chapter Two).It analyses the main difficulties encountered in the translation and discusses the solutions to them.First,at the lexical level,there are difficulties in translation of English abbreviations and economic terminologies as well as conversion of word classes;Solutions to these difficulties are illustrated in terms of consulting dictionaries and online resources as well as converting into Chinese verbs,nouns,adjectives and adverbs.Secondly,at the syntactic level,problems mainly lie in the translation of passive voice and long and difficult sentences,and solutions include conversion between the passive voice and active voice,omission of passive markers in the original order,reversal of translation order and original order translation.Finally,at the discourse level,both grammatical cohesion and logical cohesion are discussed.The former includes the translation of pronouns,relative words,synonyms and other substitutes,and the latter refers to the translation of implicit logical relations between sentences.Translation strategies mainly lie in referring to context.In a word,based on the practice of this English-Chinese translation,the author hopes to provide some suggestions for the translation of similar texts. |
