A Study On The National Identity Of Hong Kong Compatriots In The New Era

Constructing a national identity of compatriots in Hong Kong and mainland is an important task to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.National identity is a developing dynamic system that permeates exchanges and interactions at the political,economic,and cultural levels.To enhance the rational and stable national identity of Hong Kong compatriots,we need not only continuous exchange and mutual assistance at the economic level,but also systematic planning and overall promotion at the political level,and it is even more inseparable from the culture of silent and effctive.Since entering the new era,depth and speed of Hong Kong's integration into the mainland economy have been constantly developing and changing,and there are some new problems in the political identity of Hong Kong compatriots,so that strengthening and promoting cultural identity has become an important way to promote economic development in the two places and further construct the national identity of Hong Kong compatriots.The aim of this paper is to analyze the current situation of Hong Kong compatriots' national identity since the new era,and to propose that we should enhance Hong Kong compatriots' national identity from three dimensions of politics,economy and culture based on "one country,two systems" and "Hong Kong Basic Law".The main contents are:First part discusses the theoretical basis of the national identity of Hong Kong compatriots,through the analysis of relevant concepts and basic theories,and clarify the connotation and relationship of the concepts of national identity,ethnic identity,identity and cultural identity.Then,combing the basic theories of "One Country,Two Systems","The Basic Law of The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China" and Marxist concept of state to lay a theoretical foundation for the research of the subject.The second part,Firstly,it analyzes the evolution of Hong Kong compatriots' national identity before the new era,taking the three periods since the founding of new China from 1949 to 1984 as low political participation and low level of national identity,from 1984 to 1997,the change of political system and the tangle between local identity and national identity,from 1997 to now,the practice of "one country,two systems" and the fluctuation of national identity as the logical analysis National identity indifferent periods.Secondly,it through the three dimensions of politics,economy and culture,to analyze the status of the national identity of Hong Kong compatriots since the new era.Based on the research,the paper concludes that the political identity of Hong Kong compatriots to the mainland is not optimistic,the economic dependence of Hong Kong compatriots on the mainland is increasing,and the cultural identity of Hong Kong compatriots to the mainland needs to be improved.The third part has proposed the path construction of strengthening the national identity of Hong Kong compatriots in the new era.First of all,to strengthen the overall control power of the central government and promote local identity to transform into national identity by accurately grasping the basic principles of "One Country,Two Systems" and "The Basic Law of The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China" to deal with Hong Kong's problems,promoting the development of the "Hong Kong people ruling Hong Kong" model with patriots as the main body,clarifying the relationship between local identity and national identity,and establishing national identity based on local identity.Secondly,through in-depth participation in development strategies such as “one belt,one road”,“Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” and “Pan-Pearl River Delta regional cooperation”,and developing new industries,transforming and upgrading the industrial structure,attaching importance to the marine economy and developing the marine industry will be taken to further realize the deep integration of the two economies and bring Hong Kong into the overall layout of national development.Finally,we should attach importance to the inheritance of Chinese traditional culture,realize the "continuation of national culture" in Hong Kong,step by step and take multiple measures simultaneously,attach importance to the role of national education,increase cultural exchange opportunities,promote identity through communication and unite the majority of society,do a good job in the United Front Work of Hong Kong to strengthen cultural exchange,and build the national identity subject of Hong Kong compatriots by enhancing cultural identity part.
