Under the background of the popularization of higher education in many countries of the world,how to improve the academic achievements of ethnic minority students has received widespread attention.The improvement of the academic achievement of the minority students in colleges and universities not only concerns the educational quality of a country and the development of all ethnic cultures,but also plays an important role in the progress and development of the society.As the United States,due to its historical reasons,has a rather complicated national composition,as early as the 1950s,it began to study the status of minorities' low academic achievements.There have been many advanced achievements in the ways of improving the academic achievements of ethnic minority students in colleges and universities.On the basis of drawing on the experience of previous studies,this paper starts from the approaches of American colleges and universities to enhance the academic achievements of minority students.By means of literature analysis,case analysis and comparative analysis,this paper based on the theory of attribution of academic achievement of American minority students,explores the ways that American colleges and universities can improve the academic achievements of minority students,including setting up multicultural courses,constructing the multicultural environment in universities and carrying out various practical activities.Through the analysis of the specific contents of each approach,taking the universities of Harvard and Washington as examples,then summarized three experiences of improving the academic achievement of minority students in U.S.colleges and universities:first,a variety of approaches are conductive to improving academic achievement;second,the target of these approaches are clear and concrete,it provide a guidelines for the improvement of academic achievement;the last one is the specific and diverse contents of these approaches make the improvement of academic achievement more concrete.Then i combined the current situation of education in our country,we can draw some revelations to the universities in our country.First,to broaden the approaches to improve the academic achievements of minority students in colleges and universities;Second,to establish clear and feasible target for these approaches;Finally,to enrich the contents of various ways of these approaches to improve the academic achievements of minority students in colleges and universities.This paper is devoted to providing theoretical guidance and practical basis for promoting the education quality and educational equity of ethnic minorities in our country and providing references for our comprehensive universities to improve their academic achievements.
