Geography curriculum and teaching reform has been carried out for many years.Map plays an important role in geography teaching and research.It is one of the most suitable and important methods in geography teaching.It is also a good means to cultivate and test students' practical application ability of geographical knowledge.This paper is based on the upsurge of geography education reform.The research object is focused on a special group of fine arts students.With the geography image in the geography compulsory teaching material of Hunan edition high school as the link,the geography study of the fine arts specialty students is combined with the art specialty study.Firstly,this paper introduces the background of the research,the current situation of geographical image research at home and abroad,the theoretical basis and the definition of geographical image,and then classifies and analyzes the characteristics of all the geographical images in the required textbooks of Hunan teaching edition.Secondly,through the method of questionnaire,this paper analyzes the present situation of geography learning,image skill level,image learning habit and image teaching skill level of art school geography teacher and Pugao school geography teacher.Find out the problems existing in the teaching and learming of geographical images of art gifted students.The problems are as follows:learning interest,attitude,initiative and image skills of art gifted students Poor,the art school geography teacher ranks young,the image teaching skill level is not high,the fine arts school teaching management,the system is not perfect and so on.Then,the advantages and disadvantages of geography image learning for fine arts students are analyzed.,and the case teaching of fine arts gifted students and cultural students is compared with each other by the case analysis method,which selects individual cases from different kinds of geographical images.Finally,the paper puts forward some strategies to promote the effective teaching of geography images for fine arts students:to improve the image literacy of geography teachers,to strengthen the students' subjectivity and to perfect the school system.
