Bacon said: "Mathematics is the gymnastics of thinking",then through the mathematics teaching training students inductive reasoning ability,while improving the ability of finding problems,analyzing problems and solving problems,to improve students 'practical and innovative ability has an irreplaceable role.For a long time,Chinese competitors have made many outstanding achievements in international mathematics competition,but few have achieved Nobel Prize,which clearly reflects the lack of innovation ability in our education.Mathematics is the mother of science and the foundation of science.Therefore,it is the responsibility of mathematics teachers to improve students 'inductive reasoning ability and train their creative thinking.This paper focuses on the empirical study of inductive reasoning in junior high school students.First,the following problems are studied: first,using the literature research method,the concept of inductive reasoning is defined and its relationship with deductive reasoning is explored.Secondly,using the method of interview to master the teachers and students attitude to inductive reasoning and understand the situation.Thirdly,using the text analysis method,the contents of inductive reasoning in the teaching material of Beijing Normal University are statistically analyzed.Fourth,through the questionnaire survey,to understand the current situation of inductive reasoning ability in junior high school students and teachers to inductive reasoning identity and teaching.Through the research and analysis,the following conclusions are obtained: 1.The problem sets of the Beijing Normal University textbook are less related to inductive reasoning;2.Middle school mathematics teachers to "inductive reasoning" the importance of lack of due awareness;3.Teachers are not aware enough to use inductive reasoning in teaching;4.The biggest obstacle to teaching using inductive reasoning is the control of teaching progress.5.Lack of inductive ability of junior middle school students to positive and negative sign problems;6.The consciousness of solving problems by combining the thought of number shape with the nature of the law of change of figure is weak;7.Lack of flexibility in using statistical and probabilistic knowledge to find the regularity of randomness in life.In view of the existing problems,I also put forward a few suggestions: 1.In the course of textbook writing and normal training,we should increase the proportion of problems related to inductive reasoning;2.Teachers should update teaching concepts and pay attention to thecultivation of students 'innovative abilities;Teachers should improve their own quality and consciously cultivate the good habit of developing students 'inductive reasoning ability in practice.
