Learning progression research is one of the hot topics in international education research.There have been some attempts in learning progressions research in the field of science education in our country,but there are relatively few studies in geography education.China‘s ongoing education reform proposes to build an education system centered on ?core literacy?.One of the goals of the reform is to promote consistency in curriculum standards,teaching,and evaluation.This goal coincides with learning progression research goals.Therefore,the author believes that the learning progression research of geography education can promote the reform of geography education in our country and promote the consistency of geography curriculum standards,teaching and evaluation.This article is divided into five chapters to study the learning progression of the core concepts of the "Earth Movement".The first chapter briefly analyzes the research background and research significance of learning progression.At the same time,this chapter proposes the problems which need to be solved and figure out the research ideas.The second chapter analyzes the theoretical basis of learning progressionsresearch.Based on the review of learning progression research at home and abroad,the author combs the contents of the research origins,conceptual meanings,research constituents,research status at home and abroad,and research status in geography education.All the works are contributed to building up the research framework of this study.The third chapter is to construct the learning progression of the core concepts of "Earth Movement".This part is mainly divided into two parts: First,we extracts relevant contents about the ?Earth Movement? from the geography curriculum standards and research literature at home and abroad,and extracts the core elements of the core concepts of ?Earth Movement?.Secondly,the core concepts of ?Earth Movement? is divided into levels by studying the research results of students‘ understanding of the concept of ?Earth Movement? and the learning progress in research achievements of ?Earth Movement? abroad.The fourth chapter examines the effectiveness of learning progression constructed above.Firstly,evaluation items were developed based on national geography curriculum standards and domestic and foreign authoritative assessment tools.Then 360 primary,middle,and high school students from Shanghai were selected as evaluation objects to take part in the test,and then the performance differences of students in different grades were analyzed.Each student's performance was graded and statistically analyzed.Finally,based on the results of the assessment,the advanced learning effectiveness was discussed and the progression of learning was revised.The fifth chapter is the summary of this research.It is divided into three parts: one is the discussion and analysis of the research methods;the other is the research inspiration gained by the author during the research process;and the third is the reflection and summary of the research inadequacies.
