John Mill,a representative of British liberalism, defended the equality of men and women, women's participation in politics, women's education and the right to employment in both theory and practice. It is one of the leaders of the women's participation in politics in the nineteenth century. It was also a great contributor to feminist thoughts at the time and systematically demonstrated and elaborated women's rights. He believes that women can think rationally as men,as long as women and men receive the same education.Gender is only a difference between men and women. In addition, there are no significant differences in other aspects. This shows that Mill's feminist ideas are based on the political philosophy of liberalism. On the other hand,Mill believes that giving women and men the same opportunities and rights as receiving school education, finding a job, participating in politics, etc.,has great life benefits, that is,achieving equality between men and women and achieving a happy life for most people in society. This is the so-called "achievement of the greatest happiness of the greatest number of people",which in turn shows that Mill's feminist ideas are based on his utilitarian ethical values.Mill's feminist thought did not really get rid of the concept of male centralism, and still did not touch on,let alone incitement to ingrained patriarchal cultural foundation, and therefore still based on the male's equality, freedom and social norms as standards and standards. However, its thoughts and practices have had an inestimable and inestimable effect on later generations and even today's feminist theory and women's movement. In today's still dominated men,the “male-to-female-minded” ideology still has a broad market background. If we can critically inherit its ideas and overcome its regional and localized limitations of the times,we must constant enrichment and development in practice,no doubt, its reference significance is very significant.
