As the reformation of vocational education,the number of secondary vocational students has increased rapidly.So people from all social strata have paid more attention to the sound development of them.Because their parents are busy working,secondary vocational schools' management systems are inattentive and the relationship between partners is complex,the secondary vocational students are with poor academic performance,poor self-discipline and frequent conflicts between students,which results in them being labeled as undesirables.The current situation of secondary vocational students attracts me.The paper is based on the social work service in one Class of S vocational high school in Wuhan.With the quasi-experiment design,I provide the needs assessment,evaluation program implementation and outcome evaluation for the secondary vocational students in the research.To test if the social work class with the metacognition theory is effective in promoting the self-cognition ability of the secondary vocational students is the coal of the research.I look forward to deepening their sense of self-identity and increasing their confidence by promoting their self-cognition ability,so they can adjust self-behaviors actively,learn the self-monitoring,void deviant behavior and go back to the mainstream society.I work out promoting students' self-cognition ability as my service theme through the needs assessment;in the research,basing on the metacognition theory and by the approach of social work class,I expect to improve their self-cognition by the training of self-knowledge,self-experience and self-monitoring;I evaluate the service effect by the questionnaires and scales finally,and draw a comparison with data of students from the other class.Experimental results :first,suffering from undesirable family,school and social environment,secondary vocational students' poor self-cognition ability needs social work service;second,given the conditions and features of the secondary vocational schools,the social work class is one of effective approaches to promote the self-cognition ability of the secondary vocational students generally;third,the social work class service can be provided according to the idea of quasi-experiment design,which can be tested by the experiment design and can expand its application fields for return;forth,the division on self-cognition by the metacognition theory can be applied to promoting the self-cognition ability effectively.
