Analysis Of The Reasons For The Distortion Of Local Government Statistics And The Improvement Measures

Government statistical data is the barometer of local economy,politics and society.Through the analysis of statistical data at all levels,we can not only provide accurate and scientific reference for economic,political and social decisions,but also effectively evaluate the effects of each decision.The importance of local statistical data as a source is self-evident.Therefore,improving the quality of local statistical data is of great significance for economic,political and social development.I am a grass-roots statistical staff.I have worked in this industry for more than ten years.Therefore,the local government's statistical data distortion phenomenon has a personal feeling.The process and causes of distortion of local government statistics are also well understood.At this stage,China is in a critical period of rapid economic development,statistical work is particularly important,especially the quality of statistical data is the most important.But at present,the phenomenon of statistical data distortion emerges in endlessly in our country,and statistical data fraud even has a comprehensive trend,which has caused serious negative effects and economic losses to the country.Therefore,General Secretary Xi Jinping once pointed out seriously at the meeting that the problem of falsifying and distorting statistical data has become a serious problem that damages the interests of the state and affects the credibility of the government,even rising to the height of subjugation of the Party and the country.Based on my personal experience in grassroots statistical bureaus for many years,this paper studies the problem of statistical data distortion,and analyzes the causes of statistical data distortion from the following aspects: the drawbacks of the current statistical system,local human intervention,grassroots statistical construction,statistical legal defects,promotion and assessment of officials.At the same time,the government statistics system implemented by the United States,Germany,Canada and other developed countries has been studied and used for reference,and some countermeasures and suggestions to improve the quality of government statistics have been put forward.
