Research On The Process Of Home Economics Education Of Colleges And Universities During The Republic Of China

Home economics education has a strong practical value and people's livelihood.It aims to scientifically and effectively manage the family and create a harmonious and happy family.During the Republic of China,colleges and universities have experienced the process of imitating the West to exploring the path of self-development.It not only continued the family education traditions which are close to the family,practicablity and availaility,but combined the actual demand of China,integratded the scientific concept of home economics education.It built a systematic curriculum system,enriched the team of domestic teachers,organized many practical activities and trained the students needed by China..It accumulated experience to bulid home economics education.Therefore,studying the development of home economics education in colleges and universities during the Republic of China will help to provide reference for the construction of home economics in colleges and universities today.This paper synthetically uses the historical research method,the literature research method,the comparative research method and the case study method.It sorts and analyzes books,literature,the periodicals and newspapers that are on home economics education during the Republic of China through the literature research method to grasps the historical facts of colleges and universities during the Republic of China.The historical research method is used to clarify the process.It uses comparative research method to compare the similarities and differences of school and the changes of goals and courses to summarize the characteristics.The case analysis method analyzes courses,students and teachers of Yanjing University and other university to show detail of the development of home economics education of colleges and universities.This paper mainly studies the domestic education of colleges and universities in the Republic of China from the following parts.First of all,this paper analyzes the development background of colleges and universities' home economics education in the Republic of China from the aspects of politics,economy,thought and education.Then,based on the number of colleges and universities and the practical activities,this paper is divided into three stages to analyze the process of home economics education in colleges and universities during the Republic of China.In the rising phase,there are only three colleges and universities that carry out home economics education,mainly imitating Japanese and American home economics education,intertwining with traditional courses,hiring foreign teachers,showing Westernization tendency.In the stage of independent exploration,there are more colleges and universities that carry out home economics education.The home economics education gradually linked with reality of China.including curriculum,goals and othes.Native teachers incresed and sprouted concept of the self-cultivation.In the tsisted development stage,because of the needs of war,the goals and curriculum added more social education.Secondly,it contrasts the overall development process,the characteristics of colleges and universities,the curriculum,the teaching process from horiontal and vertical levels.The process of home economics education is from imitation to self-development.The curriculum is inclusive.Each university has its own characteristics and mutual cooperation.Teaching is practical and research is emphasized.Finally,it analyzes the problems arising the process of home economics education.The paper gives targeted suggestion in order to provide some reference for the current colleges and universities to carry out home economics education.
