The volunteer teaching of Chinese language teachers in public middle schools in the Philippines has its own characteristics.Therefore,based on my own practical experience,the author adopted questionnaire survey and in-depth interview to conduct a research on the teaching adaptation of 50 volunteers of Chinese teachers in public middle schools in2017 and 2018.It is hoped that this study can help Hanban and Confucius institute to select more suitable volunteers for their posts,and also give some guidance and Suggestions to the Chinese teacher volunteers who will soon be appointed to Philippine public middle schools,so as to help them quickly adapt to teaching.This paper objectively expounds the specific situation of Chinese teachers' adaptation to volunteer teaching in public middle schools,analyzes the specific items of volunteers' adaptation difficulties from the aspects of teaching links and teaching contents,and puts forward specific countermeasures to reduce the inadaptability of volunteers' teaching from the perspective of subjective and objective reasons.This paper finds that it is difficult for volunteers of Chinese teachers in public middle schools in the Philippines to adapt to teaching,and there are some inadaptability in specific teaching links and teaching contents.According to the survey results,explaining new lessons is the most difficult part for volunteers in public middle schools,followed by assigning and checking homework and classroom management,and finally lesson preparation.The most difficult teaching content is grammar,Chinese characters and pronunciation,followed by culture,and finally vocabulary.Based on the analysis of the subjective and objective reasons for the inadaptability of the volunteers in the ministry of education,the author puts forward some Suggestions on how to improve the teaching adaptability of the volunteers from the perspectives of Chinese language teacher volunteers,Hanban,Confucius institute and teaching schools.First of all,volunteer teachers should strengthen the study of professional knowledge,improve various teaching abilities,and actively integrate into the local lifeand experience the local culture and customs.Secondly,Hanban and Confucius institute should strengthen the pertinence and practicality of the training to assist volunteers to do a good job.Hanban,Confucius institutes and teaching schools should strengthen their support for volunteer teachers.Finally,the Philippines should promote the in-depth cooperation between the Philippine ministry of education and the Confucius institute,so as to enhance the discourse power of Chinese teachers in Chinese teaching.
