A Study On Cultivating The Volunteer Spirit Of University Students Based On The "Western Plan"

Volunteer work should go hand in hand with the goal of "two hundred years" and the construction of a socialist modern country.Volunteer service is an important symbol of the progress of social civilization and a critical channel for volunteers to devote.Currently,the main body of volunteer service activities in our country is young college students,and the cultivation of college students' volunteerism helps stimulate college students' active participation in volunteering,promote the development of volunteer service in China,further strengthen our cultural soft power and improve our comprehensive national strength.Therefore,this paper focuses on discussing the volunteerism cultivation of college students based on the "Western Plan".Apart from the introduction,the thesis is divided into three parts to study the colleague students' volunteerism and its cultivation based on the "Western Plan".In the first part,on the basis of explaining the concepts of volunteer service and volunteerism,combining with the characteristics of college students and the implementation of the "Western Plan",the author summarizes the concept of college students' volunteerism,and analyses its main contents in details.Meanwhile,this paper points out that college students' volunteerism has not only the theoretical basis of Marxism,but also draws lessons from the excellent traditional Chinese culture in thousands of years,as well as the philanthropic ideas of the West.The second part illustrates current overall situation of college students' volunteerism,which has been widely recognized by college students,reflected in large-scale activities and projects such as "Western Plan",and has been brought into an important part of ideological and political education etc..But,there are still some shortcomings in college students' volunteerism,like shallow volunteerism,indifferent spirit of solidarity and friendship,and lack of gratitude consciousness.This paper indicates these problems and analyses the causes,providing a basis for the cultivation of college students' volunteerism.In the third part,aiming at the problems andreasons existing in college students' volunteerism,it is concluded that the cultivation of college students' volunteerism must exert the strength of individuals,schools,families and society,and the four must work together,cooperate to form a joint force based on self-education,school education,family education and social education,so as to provide effective support for the development of college students' volunteerism cultivation.
