Research Purpose:Plyometrics training as an important training method for effectively developing lower extremity exproving muscle response speed,is widely used in various sports felds.This paper explores the effects of two training methods on the explosive power of football students' lower limbs by adding systematic plyometrics training and traditional resistance training to the Huai'an Xinhuai Senior High School football option training program.Research Methods:Twenty male football students from the football option class of Grade 2,Xinhuai Senior High School in Huaian City were selected as experimental subjects.They were randomly divided into control group and experimental group,10 people each group.The control group was trained with traditional resistance training,and the experimental group was trained with plyometrics training for 8 weeks,3 classes a week,45 minutes each class.Before and after training,four indicators reflecting the lower limbs' explosive power,sensitivity,and sprint ability were tested.Research Results:(1)In the standing long jump event,the training performance of control group after 8-week training has been significantly improved(P<0.01).The performance of standing long jump event of experimental group has also been significantly improved compared with before training(P<0.01).(2)After 8-week training,the performance of standing reach from both feet of the experimental group and the control group were improved significantly compared with before training(P<0.01),and the performance of experimental group had a very significant improvement than that of control group(P<0.01).(3)In the "T" reentry run project,the performance of control group was significantly improved after training compared with before(P<0.05),and the performance of experimental group was also significantly improved compared with before training(P<0.01).There was a significant improvement between the performance of experimental group and control group after training(P<0.05).(4)In 30-meter sprint running event,the performance of control group improved significantly after 8 weeks of training(P<0.05).There was also a significant improvement between the performance of experimental group before and after training(P<0.05).Research Conclusion:(1)8 weeks of traditional resistance training and plyometrics training can significantly improve the explosive power of lower limbs in different directions,and plyometrics training is more effective than traditional resistance training.(2)8 weeks of traditional resistance training and plyometrics training can improve the specific sensitivity of students in football options class,and the effect of plyometrics training is more obvious.(3)8 weeks of traditional resistance training and plyometrics training have significantly improved in short-distance sprint ability of students in football optional class of sophomore in senior high school.
