The current trade openness and economic globalization have promoted the rapid development of China’s economy, which has brought more prominent environmental problems. In this context,we should face the carbon leakage and the shift of trade carbon emissions and the resulting changes in the competitiveness of low-carbon trade in the measurement of a country’s carbon emissions.Based on this, this paper empirically analyzes China’s foreign trade embodied carbon emissions and low carbon trade competitiveness by using input-output model and low-carbon trade competitiveness index, and uses LMDI method to study the influencing factors of China’s low-carbon trade competitiveness. The study found that in 2002,2005,2007,2010,2012 and 2015,China’s total export trade embodied carbon emissions and import trade embodied carbon emissions reached 17.389 billion tons and 44.441 billion tons respectively.Among them, the embodied carbon emissions from export trade increased from 1.333 billion tons in 2002 to 3.292 billion tons in 2015,with an average annual growth rate of 7.20%.The embodied carbon emissions of import trade increased from 3.574 billion tons in 2002 to 101.68 billion tons in 2015,with an average annual growth rate of 8.38% and the growth rate is all rapid. At the same time,China’s low carbon trade competitiveness index increased from 0.51 in 2002 to 0.57 in 2015,and China’s low carbon trade competitiveness continues to increase.Through the analysis of the influencing factors,it is found that the total effect as a whole help to improve the competitiveness of China’s low carbon trade.Among the specific effects, scale effect, structural effect and productivity effect can help improve China’s low carbon trade competitiveness and the strength effect and competitive effect have a certain inhibitory effect.According to the research results,it can not only provide an empirical basis for the country to formulate a low-carbon development strategy, but also have important positive significance for control environmental pollution, carbon trading market development, response to international climate negotiations and achieving emission reduction targets. The innovations of this paper mainly include: firstly, based on the low carbon trade competitiveness and its influencing factors of China’s import and export products sector, and using the non-competitive input-output model and the LMDI model of China’s low-carbon trade competitiveness influencing factors,we conduct multi-dimensional comparative analysis of embodied carbon emissions,low-carbon trade competitiveness and its influencing factors in different import and exportproduct sectors. In this way,we can judge which import and export product sectors have larger embodied carbon emissions, what are the trends of low carbon trade competitiveness of different import and export product sectors, and which influence factors more affect the competitiveness of China’s import and export products sector in low carbon trade and this can make the analysis more comprehensive.Secondly, learning from the basic ideas and methods of the traditional trade competitiveness index and carbon productivity, and building a low-carbon trade competitiveness index. And from the three perspectives of the overall, three industries and product sectors, the low carbon trade competitiveness of China’s import and export products sector was analyzed. At the same time,it subdivides the evaluation system of low-carbon trade competitiveness, which can more accurately measure the low carbon trade competitiveness of different product sectors in China.
