Research On The Language Characteristics Of Shi Jie's Novels

The writer Shi Jie was born in Liaoxi District and spent a long time working there,which gets her novels immersed in certain regional features.Based on lexicology,dialectology and rhetoric,this thesis adopts the methods of statistical measurement,comparison and field survey,study of document to analyze two analyze two novels collections,“the linger light of the village” and “do you think there are snakes in the campus” written by Shi Jie,assessing her local flavor and regional characteristics.The thesis is composed of the following four parts.The first chapter is Shi Jie’s writings.This chapter introduces Shi Jie’s life experience and writing details.The second chapter is Dialect words.This chapter lays emphasis on the nouns,verbs and adjectives appeared in Shi Jie’s novels.The dialect words embody the local flavor and enhanced the expression effect of the language.The third chapter is Regional expression.The chapter focuses on idiomatic phrases,onomatopoeia word,reduplication and folk songs.The choice of words mentioned above was related to the regional element.The forth chapter is Local flavor.This chapter demonstrates the novel’s regional features from four aspects,including people’s language and behaviors,rhetoric,personal pronoun,reflecting certain culture pervaded in the novels,which are the mirror of writer’s pursuit.The fifth chapter is the Influence of Shi Jie’s language characteristics.Based on the analysis of Shi Jie’s language characteristics,it can be concluded that these characteristics not only reveal the author’s pursuit on actual and plain aesthetic perception,but also restrict her choices of stories and leading characters.In a word,the thesis pursued analyzing the linguistic features systematically and pushing forward relative study about the writer with the purpose of lighting a fire on the study of Liaoxi writers.
