Research On Wang Shizhen's Inscription And Postscript

In the early Qing dynasty,the binge-reading,famous poet Wang Shizhen,was obsessed to write preface and postscript when reading a book.Those prefaces and postscripts have served as a link between past and future in the aspects of version research,textual collating,literary style evolution,document circulation and literature dissemination.In the mean time,they are also the original textual basis to study on ancient books.Ever before,the academic community mainly focused on the discussion of his own poems,few took close study on his prefaces and postscripts.Thus,this article tries to tease out the prefaces and postscripts of Wang Shizhen,and probes into their value from different perspectives including literature,document,style,culture and books.Finally,by returning to the research subject itself and considering Wang Shizhen,the traditional politician,the article explores the hidden pursuit of learning among those prefaces and postscripts.Namely,to inherit the cultural essence of Han people through commenting on opinions and preserving ancient books,all of which is the significance of study on Wang Shizhen's prefaces and postscripts.
