The Study Of The Vocabulary Of Pakistani Dialect

This thesis chooses the vocabulary of the dialect of Badong County,Hubei Province.On the basis of a field research,the author lists a detailed word list of Badong dialect.According to the vocabulary,theword-formationof Badong Dialect are listed and summarized.Then from a horizontal perspective,the author make a comparisonbetween Badong dialect and mandarin,revealing the basic features of the it.Compared to the badong dialect,the paper analyze its similarities and differences with Wuhan Dialect and Chongqing Dialect respectively,which provides the the attribution of Badong dialect.In addition,this article also reveals the regional culture contains in the Badong Dialect.The thesis consists of seven chapters as follows:Chapter one is the introduction.,starting with the basic information of Batong County,including geographical location and environment,administrative divisions,population and ethnic groups,and historical development.Secondly,this part introduces the general situation of Badong dialect and explains the purpose and significance of this study,the method applied and sources of materials.At the end of this chapter,the regional culture contained in the dialect of Badongyan is roughly described.Chapter two is the word list of the Categorized Vocabulary ofBadong dialect.Based on the List of Items for the Chinese Dialects and the actual investigation of the vocabulary,the glossary records the frequently-used words of Badong dialect in twenty-seven categories.Chapter three is the word-formation of Badong dialect.After analyzing the vocabulary of Badong dialect from the lexical aspect,it can be divided into three parts:composite,overlay and add-on.Chapter four is the horizontal comparison of the vocabulary of Badong dialect and the vocabulary of Mandarin.It is can be analyzed from form,meaning and its motivation.Chapter five is the comparison between Badong Dialect and Wuhan dialect,Chongqing dialect.This part discuss the similarities and differences between the dialects of the two areas and Badong,analyzing the causes of their differences.Chapter six reveals the regional culture contained in the dialect of the Badong dialect.This chapter discusses the cultural mentality,geographical environment,living customs and behaviors reflected in itsdialect.Chapter seven is the conclusion.This chapter makes a brief summary of the thesis and points out improvements that can be made.
